What amazes me is that none of the Irish news papers on line have published this ?
ReplyDeleteDoes this magnitude mean any serious damage or loss of life?
ReplyDeleteI think a lot depends upon proximity to the epicentre and what building material is used.
DeleteNo Pat, which is why the news of it was not published, the news hounds only enjoy stuff which is alarmist !
ReplyDeleteFirst I have heard of it but then I have not yet turned the radio on and that is where I still get my news.
ReplyDeleteI would not hold out that you will hear much about that on the beeb :)
DeleteNot the Beeb here but Radio New Zealand. Yes it was on the news as it should be.
DeleteOh my apologies Susan I thought you were in the UK :(
DeleteYes I knew that it was reported in New Zealand as I checked that out with a friend living on Waiheke Island.
Oh poor old NZ. Did you hear about the earthquake in NL a couple of days ago? They're expecting another one of about 5 on the scale any time now. But these here are caused by gas drilling….nuff said.
ReplyDeleteNo Val, I did not read anything about the Netherlands having an earthquake. I can only surmise that negative news is not being circulated, other than murders, wars and scandals. Most definitely not tremors caused by fracking of course, that would mean sharing the Truth about this dangerous method!
DeleteThis was in the Guardian on Saturday, Mel. It's the first time it has been reported widely, I think: http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2015/oct/10/shell-exxon-gas-drilling-sets-off-earthquakes-wrecks-homes?CMP=share_btn_fb
