I have a great many interests. Among them is writing poetry, taking photo's, the practice of T M and following a druid like path. What I am not nor have I ever been is subservient or fanatical. In the true sense of the term I am a free thinking person.
When a dog gets into our lives in that kind of way he/she enriches it in ways that non dog lovers cannot possibly understand. He looks such a nice chap and who can blame him for perking up at the rattle of the biscuit tin.
Toby is truly wonderful, before us he spent his first six years with an aged man who kept him chained up in his front yard, fed him on dry bread and greasy water plus beat him with a broom handle. The aged man became seriously ill and we took over caring for Toby and at the demise of his owner we were given Toby. He now lives indoors and is the most loving and even tempered dogs and so very good with children.
How lovely to see Toby, what a great dog and after reading your reply to the above post an amazing story too. Animals (unlike humans) never cease to amaze me with their behaviour, after such cruel beginnings a beautiful animal develops with tender loving care.
Lovely photos of a faithful friend. Thank you, Mel!
ReplyDeleteThank you Val, he is all of that.
