Magical Dusk

Last night I was sitting in quiet repose wrapped in my enormous bath sheet after a relaxing hot bath & the phone rang!

The call was from a friend a few miles away who suggested that we took a look at the sky, so Mrs H wrapped in her dressing gown stepped out and called me to bring a camera.

It is just as well that the road is very quiet, mostly devoid of traffic and people, otherwise they would have seen the glamorous Mrs H and a Ghandi type figure busily taking photos over the hedge .

Beyond the leaves a magic lives !

It's the type of sky that could encourage me to drift away....

  3. A sky of a lifetime, Mel. How very beautiful and how thoughtful of your friends to phone you! The image of you two in your bath robes made me chuckle though. That would have been worth a photo too!

    1. Thank you Kim the sparkling eyes came about because in my haste I failed to adjust the camera properly - not that it mattered :)

    1. I doubt if we would have been able to take the photos from indoors, for we are surrounded by trees on three sides.

  7. Exquisite. I imagine everyone would be too enthralled with the sky to
take much notice of the photographer. Those horses' eyes are also amazing.

  8. My neighbours are used to me doing odd things, like running after seagull chicks in my slippers and taking photos late evening. What a lovely sky.

  9. Such a beautiful sky - worth to go out and look at it! There is something special about sunrises and sunsets in regions near the sea - in Hamburg I could also see most spectacular performances. Thank you for those photos!

  10. Thank you for your comments Britta. I think the reason for such good sun-scapes near the sea is because the air is cleaner than inland. Here in Ireland we are not so industrialised as other countries in europe, which is why even in the middle of Ireland where we live the sky produces such colours.

  11. You may not know it, but you have been introduced to me by Valerie Poore on her blog. So, here I am in person, ready to be captivated by the magic of your words and pictures. From her description, I took you for a Fir Bolg, and, with that sky and the cloth-girt characters behind the camera, I can tell I'm not far wrong. There is indeed a faery quality in the skyfire. Worth a wander in the dusk, for certain.

  12. Dear Christina your comment about me being a Fir Bolg made me laugh. I shall probably go outside soon and do a celebratory jig; For I can hardly contain myself, because as is often said: It takes one to know one !
Lovely to meet you and thanks for following this (humble) blogger xxx
