We had the family over for a few days earlier in the year and it was young master Oliver's first ever trip to Ireland and we had a wonder filled time together. Personally I was a bit apprehensive about how Toby (our dog) would react because he had never been in the company of children before. I need not have worried for he was absolutely marvellous and they were like two pals together.

Awww, poor Ollie, he looks very sad to be leaving. Lovely photos of a happy family gathering - in a beautiful setting as well!
ReplyDeleteThank you Val
DeleteMake the most of your times together - they grow up so quickly.
ReplyDeleteDon't I know, for it only seems like yesterday when his mother was the same age.
DeleteLovely happy family pics. I do like Toby, he looks adorable.
ReplyDeleteHello Kath Toby is a real character, so full of fun, loving, loyal and totally dislikes entering the water.
ReplyDeleteOllie has certainly grown considerably since we last saw any photos. A proper little boy now rather than a baby. I think dogs instinctively know about young children. Alfie sees a child and immediately drops a ball at their feet, knowing that they will play for hours! Your son is very much like you xxx
ReplyDeleteOllie was two &a half when those photo's were taken, he will be three in October and Fran just one correction Ollie is my grandson and not my son ! :)
DeleteAll adorable... but that first one of the little guy by the water is an especially nice composition.
ReplyDeleteThank you Gwen :)
DeleteSuch a wonderful environment for a grandchild: the grandparents, the parents, the dog and the sea - a holiday he will not forget! I guess you will see him soon again: and three is a magic age.
ReplyDeleteThank You Britta your compliments have been well received, especially by Granny J who is sitting behind me (as I write) with a contented smile on her face, come to that Grandpa is quite happy too :) x

ReplyDeleteOllie loved his holiday & still talks about Toby " good boy Toby" & " go on plane to see Grandpa" looks like we best plan another trip! I also love the pic of Ollie in the ocean but grandpa hasnt told of the daring rescue by Granny when Ollies wellies filled with water & he froze!!! Xxx
Ha'h well now Snapdragon!
DeleteGrandpa is sometimes rather circumspect in how much he tells or doesn't reveal, so forgive me for that eh and I know you have :)
You are correct though that when Ollies boots filled with the Atlantic Ocean. While everyone else froze; There was a blur of grey a topped with white like a flash of lightning as Granny grabbed Ollie bringing him to Snapdragon.
Yes do plan another trip and bring a waterproof suit next time please. x
I can't believe Ollie is this big already. I can't remember does he live far from you. I have my first granddaughter who is 5 months old now this month and I saw her shortly after she was born. I think I will have to wait till next year to see her again. She is in far away Portland, Oregon some 2000 miles from my home in Indiana. This is very sad to me but when I saw Ollie rubbing his eyes and saying he will see you next year, Grandpa, it gave me hope and I feel perhaps when she does visit or I go to see her, she will remember me and we will become special friends.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your remarks Kim. Ollie lives across the Irish Sea and quite close to geographical centre of England - so he is in a very different country.
ReplyDeleteMany congratulations on becoming a Grandmother, Kim and I am sure you and your granddaughter will have a very special relationship together, one that you both will cherish.
Thank you, Mel. I am so looking forward to that!
