Males and Mails

© 2010 H.Rufus

On a day of deep snow I was taken by a 4x4 to the nearest train station to travel to Dublin.
On my way to the carriage door I glanced to see how many others were travelling and there in a window seat sat a familiar face. Little did I realise then that the well known personage was to become the next President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins.

Uachtarán na hÉireann

My journey continued with a a wait of several hours in Dublin airport before catching my flight to Birmingham International and onwards to meet my one and only grandson Oliver who was then just three weeks old.
I often wonder what he will make of himself and of what his journey through life will be ?

  1. The future is always a mystery.
Did you lose your phone? I have still never had a cell phone. I probably don't know what I am missing. Good luck in your quest,

needs to be corrected to I'm.

  5. I shall just wish Oliver a more peaceful world as an adult than we have now, Mel. I don't have an iPhone either, but if I had one, you could have it. I am content with my old phone as I don't use it much anyway, but I do like my laptop. I'm more of a writer than a speaker anyway. I too love the idea of mailing things to the other world :)

    1. Thank you for your generous reply Val. The only problem with the Other World is in getting a reply because they have no sense of time - wink :) !

  7. My ordinary mobile is among the first invented and I rarely use it - that is as far as I have gone with these modern inventions. I have just updated to Windows 10 and I am struggling but I will get there.

    1. Thank you for the comment Pat. I use my mob ph frequently and especially when making international calls because it is so cheap.
I keep the iMac updated as soon as it available, that way there is no big struggle in adapting.
