On a day of deep snow I was taken by a 4x4 to the nearest train station to travel to Dublin.
On my way to the carriage door I glanced to see how many others were travelling and there in a window seat sat a familiar face. Little did I realise then that the well known personage was to become the next President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins.
Uachtarán na hÉireann
I often wonder what he will make of himself and of what his journey through life will be ?
AN POST
One request from myself: if anyone has a spare iPhone ? If you post it to me now it will arrive before Christmas.
The future is always a mystery.
ReplyDeleteDid you lose your phone? I have still never had a cell phone. I probably don't know what I am missing. Good luck in your quest,
I didn't know you could send letters to the "Other World"!
ReplyDeleteWhat !
DeleteThat's probably because you haven't tried John :)
Thank you for your comment Gwen. No my cell phone is almost a museum piece
ReplyDeleteand Santy doesn't remember me (sob,sob ! )
Well Mel, just pretend to be a very good boy to fool Santa and he might bring you one.
DeleteI have been very good already and he still hadn't turned up. It is very hard to improve on being perfect you know.
DeleteYour phone shoukd indeed be in a museum ;) however as the saying goes if it isn't broke ....
ReplyDeleteWhen you do make it into the world of smart phones i'm sure Oliver will be pleased to give you a crash course ;) x
Hump'f......!
DeleteThird word in I believe that the 'k' needs to be and l and in your second line 'i'm'
needs to be corrected to I'm.
Do you not know how to use spellchecker ?
Perhaps you to need to ask Oliver for lessons - ha' ha' ha'
Pot call Pan and Kettle black me thinks :) xx
I shall just wish Oliver a more peaceful world as an adult than we have now, Mel. I don't have an iPhone either, but if I had one, you could have it. I am content with my old phone as I don't use it much anyway, but I do like my laptop. I'm more of a writer than a speaker anyway. I too love the idea of mailing things to the other world :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for your generous reply Val. The only problem with the Other World is in getting a reply because they have no sense of time - wink :) !
DeleteWhat a wonderful photo, Mel! And giggling at "Other World".
ReplyDeleteI hope that a Santy remembers you this year.
Carol, Am so glad that you are have enjoyed your visit.
DeleteAs to Santy, well I guess its a question of living in hope don't you ?
My ordinary mobile is among the first invented and I rarely use it - that is as far as I have gone with these modern inventions. I have just updated to Windows 10 and I am struggling but I will get there.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the comment Pat. I use my mob ph frequently and especially when making international calls because it is so cheap.
DeleteI keep the iMac updated as soon as it available, that way there is no big struggle in adapting.
Other World.... Love it - could be Mars.
ReplyDeleteMight be..... and it might be Tír Na n Óg too
