Two Women, a Man and a Horse

The other day Mrs H went to take a photo of horse and a man in Rahan,Co. Offaly.

The purpose behind this, is that a photo will provide the basis of a new painting at some later date. Specifically it had to be a white horse to fit with the Irish mythology. For white horses are known for their mystical qualities and as being associated with the Goddesses of the land.

I went along for the ride and to take some photo's of my own for the blog here they are :-

  1. very nice, you can't beat a grey in my opinion. I had a dapple grey mare with dapples the size of saucers, she was 1/2 Connemara.

    1. Thank you for your rapid comment Kath.

I had forgotten that the horsey crowd call white horses Grey and I have never known why ?
Except that as the white horse ages they do become that colour.

  3. The basis of a good painting. It will be interesting to read more about the theme, as it develops.

  6. Oh I missed this one! Lovely horse, Mel. I am very fond of horses and many many years ago, I had the privilege of being owned by a small grey stallion, but he really was greyer than this beauty, largely because he liked rolling in the mud :-)
