A CONUNDRUM

Mystified

I spend time in contemplation studying various aspects of life. One aspect in particular has recently caught my attention and it is I think something that we all practice, in varying degrees. Although that phrase ‘varying degrees’  might not be the ideal, perhaps frequently would be better. How frequent is frequent? What about twice a day, once a day, every day, three times a week, twice a month? Perhaps once a month or once every two months - who is to decide?
I suppose that it actually comes down to need or desire.
I told this to Mrs H and she asked if by desire did I mean pleasure?
Then she said that she didn’t actually believe that it was pleasurable each time.
To which I retorted that it rarely seems anything but pleasurable to me.
Yes, I do think that the need to do so answers an inner desire in all most every case and in only a few rare cases do I feel that it comes from a negative source.
That to which I am referring can be practiced while alone, yet I mainly do it in the company of herself. Others that I know have absolutely no qualms about doing it in front of several people. I have to say though that I am not that brave.

  1. But are they gentle silent ones or loud extravagant ones, the former being more socially acceptable. By the way, love the poem x

  2. Aaah, Fran. I was wondering the same, and wasn't sure even after reading the poem, but as Mel is not disabusing you of your suggestion, I am assuming you are right, but then why is it mostly in the company of Mrs H? Maybe it is owing to the nurture and nourishment she provides?

  3. PS: thank you for turning off that annoying word verification, Mel. It drives me bonkers on other people's blogs. I hope mine doesn't have it. I've tried to make sure it doesn't, but am never sure if I'm doing the right thing with this new blogger!

    1. The strange thing about the Word Verification gadget is that I had it turned off and then it was turned back on by an unseen hand.... So I then turned it back off again, hopefully it will stay that way. I completely agree with you that it is a most annoying gadget and it certainly it does not stop the scamps from spamming.

  4. I Confess:

I confess that I had a great deal of fun when writing the conundrum, keeping my words to within my own rules of not revealing all to the reader, of laying down suggestive hints - false trails if you like and all of the time having a unseen smile on my face!

I hope you all appreciated my wicked sense of humour :)

  6. I agree with Dale, but it is a delightful wickedness, Mel, and I apologise if you think I slapped your wrist about the M U D word :-)
