  1. Perfect although I refuse to accept Dec 1st as the first day of winter - roll on the 21st.

  2. Thanks for the comment Pat and glad that you liked the photo.
The first day of winter varies according to which european country you live in. Here in Ireland the Winter months are November, December and January, with February 1st being the First Day of Spring.
December 21st is Winter Solstice the mean of three dark days, after which day light minutely increases.

    1. Absolutely Bella :-) did you know that in Ireland the sun was once seen as female and is represented by
      two goddesses Áine and Gráinne.

  8. I should have said sunset, not sunrise! It sets here at 1641 (San Diego, California). It's so easy to capture the beauty with the phone camera.

    1. No matter Sara, for when the sun is setting here it is rising elsewhere... thank you.

  11. Lovely sunset. I would love to watch the sunrise too next time we can actually see it. It's all mist and frost here at the moment!

    1. Ah' yes Val we have days like that too, they are called grey days when not even the moon or stars are seen
and as it was yesterday. Thank you for commenting.
