DELIGHTFULLY DISSOLUTE !

On my full spoon sits a portion of delicious Rocky Road sundae, while in the foreground
looking delicious and untouched is Mrs H's Salted Caramel sundae !
So here we are again enjoying ourselves by massaging our taste buds with an orgasmic mix of chocolate and ice cream at The Chocolate Garden, Rathwood, Co. Wicklow.

I know of at least one other person who will be tormented by reading this and I am not at all ashamed :-)

We needed after having quietly consumed and sated ourselves. A leisurely modicum of gentle exercise and so in warm sunshine we drove a couple of miles to the East and a walk
around Rath Gael. Actually walking was the last thing my body was calling for it said
"Sleep, sleep you would enjoy some pagan dreams amid these old stones" I denied my eyes and merely sat listening to the grass growing.

  3. Well well, thats a sunday sundae for you!!!! Myself I enjoyed the unspeakable pleasure of baptizing a sweet little babyboy while his threeyearold brother had a totally disastrous Day, raging and rampaging his way through the service. I could say, lovingly, that I would gladly sit myself down beside mrs H and devour a bowl of that icecream.. I am quite sure you deserved every spoonful. God invented icecream for comfort, just as he did with chocolate!!!!

    1. Ha' ha' sounds to me that you had a three year old devil alongside you, in which case you now deserve to finish the day by being totally dissolute FT !

    2. Yes indeed, and I treated the family with some applepie. Little boys really are made somewhere else, aren't they? But they grow out of it eventually, around 17-18 I found them quite pleasant to talk to.

    3. I never realised before that us boys were seen quite like that FT and I am quite amazed - no, not really though - wink !

    1. Well, now Graham. My Doc told me that I am allowed to treat myself now and again providing that it did not become a habit.

  6. Hi Mel - that looks positively delicious ... I usually manage not to indulge - but I think I might fly to Wexford for one of those! I'd have walked before hand and then lazily enjoyed the sundae and as you say wanted some sleep fairly soon afterwards ... but you obviously had one lovely outing ... cheers Hilary

    1. Hilary, I rather think that you would enjoy a visit to that part of the woods especially when the weather is fine. Visits to ancient sites given the right atmospheric conditions often make me feel sleepy, it is their ambience you see :-)

    2. I have misled you Hilary for the county that we were in is WICKLOW and not Wexford as I first stated - my apologies to everyone!

    1. Oh dear Pat ! I have no idea of what guilt must feel like (?) You are right though it was delicious :-)

  8. That's my entire calorie intake for a week there lol. The earthwork looks interesting. Prehistoric stone fort, says the internets

    1. Thank you Simon !
The earthwork is believed to be a late Bronze Age stone fort covering in excess of 18 acres.

  10. That smile! The anticipation of all that yumminess! No wonder you both needed a walk afterwards! Maybe it's the perspective but Mrs H's looks even bigger than yours....how wonderful to indulge a bit. As my mum always used to say, a little (or a lot!) of what you fancy does you good :)

    1. It was the perspective Val, for the servers did not know who had ordered what. Your mum was quite correct :-)
Thank you for the jovial comment

  11. Good grief, man, that's sinful in the extreme! What was the penance?

    1. The penance is that I have to return and work my way through the menu, would you like to join me ?
