Bath Chaps: sometimes referred to simply as "chaps" this food is a pig meat speciality, originating in the British city of Bath, that is served as a snack or as an ingredient to be combined with other foods such as potatoes or eggs. Bath chaps, which are quite fatty, are made from the meat of either a pig's cheek. The meat is salt cured or pickled in brine, smoked, then boiled, and coated with golden-tan colored breadcrumbs. It is then ready to eat and is served as cold meat, tasting much like cooked ham.

  1. Haha, that's the first thing I thought of (that Black Mirror episode) when I saw the headlines this morning!

    1. I thought it was a satirical piss take of Animal Farm, UK has cameras on every street etc etc, cops dressed as black beetles blah blah.

  2. I used to work on a pig farm for many years. If he carries on holding the pig like that he'll get more than a satirical piss on his highly educated trousers.

    1. Very true John the same thought went through my mind :) All I can think of is that he must be fairly used to that in one way or another; after all they say politics is a dirty business!

  4. Every time anybody meets David Cameron whether they be a foreign dignitary / diplomat or am ordinary joe soap, this is going to be in their mind and they are going to weighing up the probabilities of whether there is any truth in this matter.
Am not a royalist by any means but I do feel sorry for the Queen.

    1. Thank you Pat, I agree completely with you the posh ex-public school boys are mostly despicable lowlife braggarts.

  7. Very neatly penned poem, Mel. Love it. What strikes me though is that Mr Cs fleshiness bears a remarkable resemblance to his 'favourite' animal's skin. Love your satirical take on this!

  8. Interesting your comments on my blog post about Corbyn Heron. My son, who is also a supporter, served for some years on CND committee with him and says he is a very honest and sincere man. Wish you lived nearer - I have no doubt the three of us could have a good political argument.

Your son is obviously a very discerning man. I have been in close contact with people who know Jeremy and they too have the same qualities.
For myself Pat I never argue only ever discuss.

  10. It's a storm in a trough. A simple case of Nobs falling out. Is that how one spells knob?

    ReplyDelete
  11. The dictionary gives: Nobs
a person of wealth or high social position. it was quite a do—all the nobs were there.
