Climate

Now here's a chilling fact. Every one hundred thousand years the planet had an ice age that lasted for about twelve thousand years, it has been delayed by global warming which we are being informed will be devastating on all life forms.

My question is which would you prefer extreme cold or heat ?

Climate science is a misnomer. There is no science. What it is are papers written as opinions by money grubbing pseudo intellectuals and peer reviewed to provide a squirrel for politicians to use to cream in more tax from the plebs. I can remember the Ozone holes, climate warming and when all that failed to cause any appreciable difference then we got climate change.
I am a firm believer in climate change. The world does change....It's how it is but what it is is conjecture it is definitely not science.

Tough call. Always thought it would be easier to adapt by adding layers in the cold, and I am not a big fan of temps over 90 F. Guess it would really come down to how the environment around me adapts. Vote: cooler.

At my age I shall certainly not be around to experience it and also at my age there is little I can do about it - I do my bit but I know it is not enough.

Thanks Adrian. The information did not originate from the media;t was from a renown geologist. The climate has never the same and there have always been variations throughout the years the areas known as flood plains verify this.

Personally given the choice I would sooner take the heat :-).

I am not sure that anybody, I mean people like us cannot do much. The multi-nationals can certainly clean up their ways just like the UK did as per that we no longer suffer smogs.

I would rather have the heat, Mel, but it might mean moving inland a bit. I'm not sure how many metres the sea levels will have to rise before the Netherlands is totally flooded, but I might need to find a hill or two!

Thanks Val likewise the heat is my preference. As for sea rises it is currently increasing at about 4mm per year and from what I have read this too will increase but on the other hand it might also stabilise depending on the area of the land masses that are flooded.

The effects of the last ice age on Britain was one of the things I loved when I did my geography 'O'Level. I've often wondered about the natural long term changes but then man hadn't started interfering with things quite so much beforw thw ice ages.
