HIDDEN ENERGY - REVEALED

In my previous post I spoke of events which occurred in the mid 1970’s when I lived in, what was then, a proper small country market town set in the heart of Somerset.
Back then Glastonbury was home to a small alternative community and my quest was to find others who had also experienced the hidden energies who could offer me advice or guidance.

During this time I had also become partially absorbed in writing poetry, a way of expressing the thoughts of my inner self. Again it was Ms. D who actively encouraged me and as I look back today I realise how much she helped me to develop. I have never met the person I sought, the one who shared my experiences and could guide me, but I do live in hope.

My life then was, in some ways, an apprenticeship as I grew and accepted the reality of subtle energies and my own awareness of them.
It was around this time that I discovered the works of the eminent Dr. Carl Jung and others, whose influence set me on a journey of personal discovery and self examination, although to be honest I would not have admitted that then.

Those hidden energies which I later discovered, as many have probably guessed, were Healing Energy and Earth Energy.

Living in Ireland many years later I attended a Healing Centre weekly. Here, myself and others, gave our time and skills in energy healing to help people. There was no fee for our work, we asked only for a donation towards the rent and heating. We never turned anyone away and people gave what they could afford.
Although the sessions were long, starting at 7pm and continuing until the last person had been seen, often at midnight, I experienced great pleasure in assisting those who needed our help.

On some occasions we would train others, showing them various techniques, such as the use of sound, colour, visualisation and chakra balancing, which we knew from our own experience would work. Our belief was that the more people we trained the more people would benefit and the healthier society would become. I continue believe this and still offer healing free of charge, when asked.

In regard to Earth Energies I developed my own system of working and may in the future share that too.

Thank You for Visiting

    1. I do on occasions use crystals Dave, especially when the energy seems to be stuck or recently when pain was coming from a nerve in someones thigh and it needed to taken away without disturbing the good energy in the muscles that surrounded the nerve.
So to my way of thinking crystals are more for using as a tool than just holding in the hand; but if it works for you all well and good but do cleanse them thoroughly afterwards in either salty water or bury them in the earth for a few days and then rinse off. Thank you for the comment.

    .
I have always been sure there is more to this world than what we see and feel on the surface - and this area is one well worth exploring.

    2. Guess what this comment by Weaver was an empty one. For I sent an immediate reply via email and she could not bother to reply. So I can truly do without such trivia!

  6. What a wonderful way to help people, Mel. I suppose some people have more of a 'gift' for this than others and you must be one of these as it sounds as if you were quite aware of those energies. I can well imagine it is very rewarding to be able to give relief and healing to people in need. Bless you!

    1. Thank you Val. There are a great many variables as to what healing can be for people... and I do get lot of personal satisfaction in doing what I can.

  8. Hi Mel, thank you for sharing this, your work in the Healing Centre sounds like a marvellous experience. I often try the power of positive thinking on myself when I feel a bug coming on, sending healing and protective thoughts around my body. I'm convinced it works as I've almost come down with the usual nasty cold and viruses going around. I might feel ill for a few days but it rarely develops into the full thing.
I used meditation for car sickness because I used to have to travel miles to get to work and back and felt dreadful (have to say here I wasn't the driver). It worked and also took the edge off my fear of spiders. Sadly life's been more chaotic over the last few years and I haven't found the peace I need to start again, but I will eventually. Great post.

    1. Thank you for the interesting comment Suzie.
In regards to finding the peace to meditate. I suggest that you first start practising and after awhile the peace will flow in and around you.
      Very best wishes to you.

  9. A few weeks ago at the bookstore where I work I found myself inexplicably drawn to the books on mindfulness and meditation. I would like to start to meditate but feel overwhelmed at all the information out there. Do you have any suggestions for resources to get me started?

Thank you and a most happy New Year to you, Heron!

  10. Hello Jennifer, thank you for commenting and for asking an interesting question which I will do my best to answer. Basically, Mindfulness is a short version of T M which many people have turned into a business. Having said that there are positive changes that can be attained by each practitioner. Both Mindfulness and T M are a discipline of the mind - the stopping of random thoughts which allows the practitioner to concentrate. Single mindedness or one pointedness are terms which are also used.

In order reach these mental states we use a mantra/phrase which is said silently and repeatedly to block out stray thoughts. Some people select a word from a foreign dictionary which they do not know the meaning of, so their mind cannot feed from the sound; others use the mental sound of 'Om'.
Whatever you choose the word is said to the rhythm of the breath - said mentally on an in breath and on the out breath. Actually I used "One" on the in breath and "Two" on the out breath.
After a long while, perhaps many months. I was able to stop using the mantra altogether and appreciate sitting with the silent mind for a twenty minute session or twice a day.

If you choose to work alone, which is my preference, begin by selecting a room where you will not be disturbed, by people or pets. Switch off all electrical appliances, phones, TV, door chimes etc.
Sit in a chair wearing comfortable clothing, in a position where you can keep your spine upright, with your stockinged or bare feet firmly on the floor. Take three or four deep belly breaths, this will ensure that your body is well oxygenated, keep your hands apart with palms down on the thighs, then close your eyes and start the mantra.
Very likely the fist thing that will happen is that you will have the urge to scratch an itch - don't give in! Say a mental No! and continue with the mantra.

Jennifer, it is perseverance on a daily basis, week after, month after month. year after year and what you gain as an individual is absolutely astounding and belongs to you alone. Good Luck!
